Places to take the entire family
Find fun things to do in Lynton & Lynmouth to make your visit truly memorable. Lynton & Lynmouth, as well as the surrounding area, offer a wealth of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Visit the many historic mansions and gardens in North Devon, or explore the wild and unspoiled Exmoor countryside, vast moorlands, sheer sea cliffs, and hidden river valleys.
Where should you eat in Lynmouth? Lynmouth, rather than Lynton, has the majority of the dining alternatives. We ate at the Pavilion, which serves pub-style meals at a reasonable price and has a wonderful view from its terrace. There are several vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free alternatives available. The Esplanade Fish Bar was also very popular, with a line that wrapped around the block - so it must be fantastic! Rock House, which has a nice outside area and a menu consisting of classic seaside pub food (i.e. seafood and British staples), was also on our list.
What are the best places to stay in Lynmouth?
Many people simply pass through Lynmouth, but I don't blame you if you want to remain; it's a great spot.
There are a number of modest B&Bs in town, including the aforementioned Rock House, which is located right on the river and offers homey, individually themed rooms.Another alternative is the highly rated Lyn Valley Guest House, which includes a delectable breakfast and has extremely friendly staff. There isn't much in the way of budget lodging in Lynmouth, so if you're looking for something less expensive, I'd recommend camping on Exmoor or looking for lodging in neighboring Minehead, where there are more possibilities.
