Lynhurst is an elegant late Victorian country house with great character arranged on four floors. Lynhurst was first
occupied in the 1880's by John Bateman, an eminent experimental engineer, as a summer retreat. The house is totally
hidden in almost 3 acres of gardens and natural woodland yet just a whisper away from Lynton and Lynmouth. It is a
perfect retreat for those seeking peace and solitude, although secluded, it is only a short stroll to all the area's
attractions - such as the Cliff Railway which takes you to the picturesque harbour of Lynmouth, the Valley of the Rocks, the beautiful waterfalls of Watersmeet, and the beach at Lynmouth.
Perched some 400 feet about Lynmouth overlooking Exmoor National Park, Lynhurst exudes wide and open space and
tranquillity. Enjoy the large garden with BBQ and relax on the terrace or in the beautiful conservatory both taking in
the panoramic sea views. Pubs, restaurants and shops are just a few minutes walk away.
The accommodation is presented to an exceptionally high standard retaining many original features including a tiled entrance hall that leads to an impressive grand staircase which takes you to TEN well appointed spacious bedrooms, eight of which are en suite.
