Winstitchen is located in the very heart of Exmoor National Park offering self-catering accommodation, in the farmhouse or cottage of an extremely high standard. Set around a circular courtyard the farmhouse, cottage and stables make and attractive entrance to this magical situation.

These holiday cottages have an enviable position, being completely secluded yet Simonsbath a well known Exmoor landmark is barely a mile away with pub and Hotel, and Exford is within a 5 minute drive. Here there is a local shop, post office, pubs, hotels and a petrol station.

 It is an ideal spot for friends, families or just couples to escape and relax, in total peace and quiet, with just the wildlife for company! We accept either weekly bookings or last minute short breaks   Winstitchen is located in the centre of Exmoor National Park and occupies an outstanding position on the moor, completely secluded yet easily accessible. Simonsbath a well known Exmoor landmark is barely a mile with pub and Hotel, and Exford with Post Office, Store, Newsagent, Pub and Hotel, a five minute drive away. Winstitchen is found at the end of a tarmac drive lined with Beech trees enjoying uninterrupted views over moorland with direct access on to the moor for walking and riding. Approached through a five bar gate the farmhouse, cottage and stables create an attractive courtyard with circular lawn. The spacious Winstitchen farmhouse dates back to 1840 and has been extensively modernised over the years. The front door opens into a large reception hall which has views to the courtyard. Opening from the hall is the Drawing room. This is a large well proportioned room with French doors and windows opening into the garden, and extensive views to the moor.There are plenty of comfortable sofa's and arm chairs and a large open fireplace. The kitchen has been hand made in maple and is fully fitted with Belfast sinks, dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge, matching freezer, electric hob and oil fired Aga. In the centre of the room is a10ft Oak dining table, which seats a minumum of 12. From the kitchen you can walk through to the large boot room, with boiler, washing machine, large clothes drying rack, and plenty of space for hanging coats and storing muddy wellies, and there is direct access to the courtyard via the back door. Also on the ground floor is one twin bedroom with en-suite shower room.

On the first floor are three further bedrooms all with glorious views: a double with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with enamel cast iron victorian bath and separate shower. Two further double rooms each with king size beds, and en-suite bathrooms both with bath and one with additional shower over. Winstitchen Cottage has been recently converted from part of the stables has its own entrance and is approached by a separate drive. Outside the cottage is a large level lawned area, with views to the moor. The entrance hall opens into the spacious sittingroom/kitchen area. The sitting area has exposed stone walls with highly efficient woodburner comfortable seating and a window overlooking the garden. The kitchen area is fully equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer with window overlooking the courtyard. There is one twin bedroom and one with kingsize double bed and the bathroom has bath with shower over. Outside, for both properties, is a games room with pool table, darts and table tennis and plenty of space for outdoor ball games. Also stored in the outbuildings is a tumble dryer for joint use. Although the two properties are available as separate holiday accommodation they can easily be used as one for a larger party. Outside There is stabling available in any or all of the nine loose boxes and there are several small fields, all with water, which can be used by any visiting equines!  There is a large area of garden laid mostly to lawn for each property, with a set of garden furniture.
