Rockford Inn

Just 4 miles up river from Lynton and Lynmouth, The Rockford Inn is perhaps one of England's finest rural Inns. It is a great place to stay for those wishing to explore the vast open expanses of Exmoor National Park. Set in a wooded gorge the 17th century Inn lies in the remote Brendon Valley, sandwiched between the bleak windswept moors and the rugged cliffs of the North Devon coast. It also overlooks the dramatic East Lyn River as it carves its way through the wild moors down to the sea at Lynmouth. The Rockford Inn provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation surrounded by some of the UK's most beautiful landscapes. It's an ideal getaway from the rigours of the modern world. The only sounds you will hear at night are the rushing waters of the East Lyn River and the owls hooting in the oak woods that envelope the building.

Recently re-furbished throughout we have 7 en-suite bedrooms to cater for all tastes and budgets. We have a small single room priced at just £35 including breakfast up to to a luxurious double at £90 B&B. We have a twin room and also a family room that will cater for 3. The en-suite bathrooms rooms are a mixture of walk-in shower or bath/shower. All rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities and are situated on the 1st floor and some have a view of the river. Our focus is on quality of service and you will be well looked after by our managers Cathryn & Sarah

We have two main bar areas where food is served at lunchtimes and evenings and also a separate dining area for our overnight guests to take breakfast. We have a fireside TV lounge area for guests to unwind after their countryside exertions! You may park your car for free in our car parking areas. Free wi-fi operates throughout the Inn. Permits to fish the East Lyn River for salmon and trout are also available. Horse riding and pony trekking facilities are available in the village. You can almost fall into the river when you step outside the front door. Apart from exploring the rocky rapids, waterfalls and deep pools lined with effervescent-green ferns the coast of North devon is just 1 mile away.

Traditional English pub food is served using locally sourced products. All the dishes are prepared fresh by our chef Sarah. Real ales from West Country brewers are served direct from the cask barrels behind the bar.
