View Over LawnThe Swimming Pool

Graciously set in the ancient `walled garden', a veritable suntrap, is our generously proportioned filtered swimming pool. (not heated) The surrounding lawns provide an ideal location for sunbathing or just relaxing.

The House, Gardens & Grounds are for your enjoyment...

Playing

Children play happily and safely thrilled with the freedom of space and the excitement of adventure and mystery the 26 acres of unknown territory provides, with the added novelty of a beach at the bottom of the garden.

A floral TributeRelaxing

Here, where nothing need intrude upon you from the world outside, guests will find the ultimate escape from the pressures of modern day living; a place in which to indulge `leisure' in whatever way please you - be it sunbathing or swimming, reading or sketching, snoozing or gazing into rock pools.

Walking

And when you feel a little more energetic a walk in any direction from the Manor will give its own rewards. Needless to say Martinhoe Manor is situated in the centre of what is considered to be one of the most powerfully beautiful sections of coastline in the whole of England; so our coastal paths are truly magnificent. Indeed, the whole expanse of Exmoor, interlaced with well-marked footpaths is a fascinating place to explore with its remarkably varied geography of wooded valleys, brooding moors, patchwork meadows and country lanes.

Some DeerRiding & Pony Trekking

Alternatively, why not discover Exmoor on horseback. There are several stables nearby which  cater from the complete beginner to the competent rider.

Fly Fishing

By arrangement on the River Lyn and nearby lake and reservoir.

Golf

There is a championship course at Suntan and an interesting cliff top course near Ilfracombe. We now have five of our own practice holes in the grounds for guests use only.
